Governor Malloy seeks Fund Balance Info.

-A A +A

The CT Office of Policy and Management, on behalf of Governor Malloy, has requested information regarding the FY 17 and the projected FY 18 fund balances from Connecticut's towns.  The theory from Hartford being higher fund balances within a town can equate to larger funding cuts in State aid to those same towns.

Pomfret officials continue to argue that this is a bad idea.  First Selectman Craig Baldwin has responded to Benjamin Barnes, OPM Commissioner, and has forward the same to State Senator Tony Guglielmo and Representative Patrick Boyd, asking them to continue arguing in Hartford on behalf of our small towns.

It is important for citizens to continue to reach out to both Senator Guglielmo and Representative Boyd to voice their concerns regarding shifting the burden of Hartford's woes to our small towns and to continue to advocate for municipal aid in reasonable and responsible amounts.

They can both be reached via email as indicated below.
