We invite you to explore more of Pomfret this summer and remind you of some of the upcoming events and attractions in Town!

July 4th - Happy Independence Day!  Check out the Events section of local papers to find the best Firework displays near you.

July 9th & 10th - Living History Event - The Battle of Wilson Creek - A reenactment of the Fall of General Lyon takes place at Daffodil Hill Farm on Harrisville Road. 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday and 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday.  Free Admission!  Sponsored by the Pomfret Historical Society.

July 15th, 16th - Bulky Waste!  9:00 AM - 3:00 PM at the Murdock property.

July 17th - Farmer's Market at the Recreation Park.  First of three!  Sponsored by the Agricultural Commission.

July - Tax Month.  First installment of the FY 2016/2017 tax year is due. Visit the Tax Collector's page for more info.

August 14th - Farmer's Market at Recreation Park.  Sponsored by the Agricultural Commission.

August 29th - Back to School!

September 11th - Farmer's Market at Recreation Park.  Sponsored by the Agricultural Commission.

September 24th - Positively Pomfret Day!  Annual event at the Recreation Park.  

**Did you know that Pomfret has TWO canoe launches?  Launch located on Route 101 at   the Killingly line and an additional launch along Cotton Bridge Road.      

**Stop by the Town Hall and pick up a trail map.  You will find a driving route for Pomfret's historical landmarks - and a hiking/biking/horseback riding map of Pomfret's extensive trail system.  Check out the great new surface on the Air Line Trail!

**Mashamoquet State Park offers camping, picnic areas, swimming, streams and trails to explore. Hike to the Indian Chair or the Wolf Den.  Visit one of our TWO libraries to find   the story of Pomfret's famous Israel Putnam and the last Wolf Den.  

**Local businesses offer quaint shops, Bed and Breakfasts, ice-cream, inviting cafe's,   music, and more.  Remember to shop local!  Contact the 4-H Camp for details regarding their Family Camp weekend on August 19th, 20th.
