Pomfret Residents Have Options!

The Pomfret Community Market  

* Located in the basement of the Pomfret Community Center at 207 Mashamoquet Road.

* Open 2nd and 4th Tuesdays every month from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm and every Thursday from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.  Appointments can be made by calling TEEG at 860-923-3458.

* The latest addition to TEEG's growing food security program.  The Community Market offers completely cost-free food security services with       access to dairy, meat, protein, fresh and frozen produce, hygiene products and more.

The Pantry is always looking for donations of the following items: · Spaghetti Sauce (canned) · Meats (canned) · Fish (canned) · Cereal · Juice · Beans (canned) · Peanut Butter.

We are not allowed to distribute homemade items such as canned jellies or preserves.

Food item donations can be dropped off at the following locations: · Pomfret Community Market · Pomfret Community Center · Pomfret Town Hall · Abington Social Library · Abington Congregational Church · Pomfret Public Library

Monetary donations are also graciously accepted and can be made out to Town of Pomfret Food Pantry, 5 Haven Road, Pomfret Center, CT 06259.

The TEEG Food Pantry  

* Located at 15 Thatcher Road in North Grosvenordale provides a client choice distribution that includes frozen meats, fresh produce, canned          items, toiletries, rice, pasta, eggs and more. 

* Hours of distribution are Mondays from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Wednesdays from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and Fridays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.           Please call the TEEG office at (860) 923-3458 to set up an appointment.

* Seniors who income qualify may be eligible to receive a Commodity Supplemental Food Program box in addition to their monthly distribution.          Ask a staff member for details.

TEEG Mobile Market

* Held monthly at the Woodstock Town Hall, 415 CT 169, on the first Tuesday from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, and the third Tuesday from 1:30 pm to     2:30 pm.

Additional Option: Pomfret Power Packs

* In addition to the pantries listed, Pomfret families may also receive food supplementation through the Pomfret Power Pack Program -  a               program in which TEEG partners with The Pomfret School and Christ Church to provide weekend food for families through the Pomfret                 Community School during the school year.  Please contact Pomfret Community School 860-928-2718 for details on this program.
