Water Pollution Control Authority

The Town’s Water Pollution Control Authority was established in June of 1992 by Town Ordinance to acquire, construct and operate a sewerage system. The WPCA governs the public sanitary sewage system located within the Town of Pomfret, as well as all the equipment related to its operation. It is not part of the Town Budget.

The Board of Selectmen is designated as the Water Pollution Control Authority to exercise the powers set forth in Chapter 103 of the Connecticut General Statutes as amended.  The three duly elected members of the existing Board of Selectmen shall serve as members of the Water Pollution Control Authority and the terms of the members shall be conterminous with their terms as members of the Board of Selectmen.
