DOT Road Work - Route 44

The Connecticut DOT has announced a tree removal project on Route 44 in Pomfret and Eastford.  The project will consist of tree and vegetation removal of dead, decaying, and diseased trees.  Growth along the 'clear zone' - the safe space along the side of the roadway will also be removed.  The removal operation is expected to start on Friday, March 1, 2024 and run through Friday, April 5, 2024.

Lane Closures: Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 44, westbound and eastbound, from Route 101 in Pomfret to Route 198 in Eastford.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  Work is scheduled to take place from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday thru Friday.  Schedule may fluctuate due to weather delays or unforeseen conditions.
