Thank You Poll Workers

The Presidential Preference Primary was unique this year due to the first time Early Voting was instituted. The location was at Pomfret Town Hall for four days, March 26, 27, 28 and 30th from 10:00AM until 6:00 PM. We had 24 Democrats and 8 Republicans that made use of the early voting. We want to thank our poll workers John Folson, Cris Cadiz, Jamie Robbins, Sue Jackson and our moderator, Bill Anderson, for their time and cooperation to help this first-time event go smoothly!

We would also like to thank all the poll workers for their hard work at the April 2, 2024, Presidential Primary Election. Josh Lake, our moderator; Carolyn Hopkins and Bill Anderson, Assistant Registrars; Sue Jackson and Cris Cadiz, official checkers; Norine Reingold, and Terri Viani ballot clerks; and Nora Robbins, tabulator tender. Their hard work, with such long hours, helped to make the election run smoothly. We also appreciated the use of the Pomfret Community School and support of Principal Susan Imschweiler as well as the help of Tom LePine and his staff for this election. Our thanks also go to Chris Coyle, Bill Ireland and Rich Huoppi who as constables helped monitor safety issues and traffic throughout the day.  We would especially like to thank Sherry Grist and Sandy Arcayan at Town Hall for their hard work and assistance with absentee ballots and throughout the whole election process. We had a great team of absentee counters for Central Counting of Absentees and Early Voting Ballots in Martha Paquette, moderator, Jamie Robbins, Martha Emilio and Margie Huoppi.

Special thanks to Baker’s Dozen and Pizza 101 for supplying nourishment for our Early Voting team and Primary Day poll workers.
