Pies, Paintings, and Paper Ballots Presented at Annual Town Meeting!

The Annual Town Meeting was held on Thursday, May 16th at 7:00 PM in the Pomfret Community School.  A number of items of business were brought to vote including the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year.  This year's budget vote was again by paper ballot and was overwhelming approved by a vote of 64 in favor, 3 opposed.

A number of Pomfret groups and individual citizens contributed their favorite pie for serving during this meeting.  A great variety was available along with coffee and juices.  This was a great success and enjoyed by all!

Pomfret artist Barbara Lussier has generously donated three of her paintings to the Town of Pomfret.  These lovely works were on display during the meeting and will be showcased in the display cabinet at the Town Hall.  An additonal painting, with her permission, is featured on the front of this year's General Government budget.
