Conservation Commission

The mission of the Pomfret Conservation Commission is to inventory and conserve Pomfret’s natural resources and open spaces and to serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Selectmen and other municipal agencies.

The Pomfret Conservation Commission is established per legislation stated in Chapter 97, Section §7-131a of the Connecticut General Statutes, "for the development, conservation, supervision and regulation of natural resources, including water resources, within its territorial limits."

Memberships

The Conservation Commission currently has  openings for members. If you are interested in environmental issues, wish to help work towards maintaining and improving the quality of life in Pomfret, and are a registered voter in the Town, please contact the First Selectman's office at (860) 974-0191. All that we require is an interest in helping to shape the future of Pomfret and a willingness to work toward that end.
