Solar Project - Land Lease Available for Review | Pomfret CT

The right project…

  • Our community and our planet need clean renewable energy.
  • If approved, this project will generate ~$480,000/year for Pomfret and become the highest single source of revenue for the town.

At the right time…

The Murdock site solar installation project is on a fast track due to external factors:

  • Years ago, interconnection capacity prevented this project from progressing; earlier this year, Eversource indicated that capacity is available for alternative energy interconnects.
  • Due to the One Big Beautiful Bill, the Federal Tax Incentives are set to expire in July and without those incentives, the project would produce significantly less revenue for Pomfret.

In the right location…

  • The adjacent power lines and proximity to the to the Eversource substation make implementation easy, less impacting and overall increase the value of this project.
  • The solar field project will utilize ~25-35 acres of already cleared land and will leave the remaining ~150 acres of the property untouched.

This project is for the good of Pomfret residents, the greater good of the regional community and the planet we all share.

If not now, then when?
