Referendum Vote Approves Solar Panel Lease

Over 600 ballots were cast regarding a lease agreement with Greenskies Clean Energy for a 5 megawatt solar project on approximately 25 acres of land located at 434 Killingly Road. The question was approved with 370 voting in favor and 293 opposed.
In accordance with a court order the referendum scheduled on July 2, 2026 has been RESCHEDULED TO TUESDAY, JULY 7, 2026 from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Pomfret Community School.
Absentee ballots already cast will remain valid. Absentee ballots will continue to be available on July 2 and July 6 at the Office of the Pomfret Town Clerk, 5 Haven Road from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
